Rialto Bridge, one of only three bridges that span the Grand Canal throughout its length. It needed to be high enough to allow passage of the seagoing vessels that once traveled up the canal. It dates from the late 1500's. This photo was taken from a dock that was rocking up and down with the passing wakes, so the sharpness leaves much to be desired.
