Near the Rialto bridge on the Grand Canal - all the lights and reflections at night on the water are very compelling. Venice is a very safe city to walk around in at night. The biggest danger is probably getting lost! I recommend bringing along a compass - it proved to be very handy as we were walking around, since there is abolutely no grid or pattern to the layout of the city (as you can tell from the map at the beginning of this photo collection).
