The town of Montalcino and the abbey of Sant'Antimo that is nearby were the last of our travels in Tuscany.
It turned out to be the best driving daytrip of all. Montalcino was like a little jewel, and seemed less crowded with tourists. It is the home to the
famous Brunello variety of Chianti wine. It also enjoys a wonderful view over the Val d'Orcia. After Montalcino we went the the Abbazia di Sant'Antimo,
a abbey and church a short distance away from Montalcino, and it was perhaps the most haunting memory of our Tuscan travels.
