We arrived at the Isle of Skye after a rather long day driving over the Highlands in the rain. The island can now be reached by the Skye Bridge from Lochalsh on the mainland. The Hebrides have a reputation for stormy weather, and the forecast was not looking good. They had been having storms and rain for over a week. We had dinner and that evening I enjoyed listening to a radio show broadcast in the Scots Gaelic language. Most of the signs on Skye are also bilingual in Gaelic and English.
